Healthy Kick Start!

This week Sarah from Offaly Sports Partnership came into our classes to give a presentation on Healthy Eating and the importance of a balanced diet. So far the students have been engaging in plenty of physical activities and now they are looking at the benefits of the key vitamins and minerals they need in order to grow and develop properly. Thank you so much Sarah for dropping by!

Just a reminder that our International Dance group Daltaí will start back into rehearsals tomorrow (Tuesday 15th January) after school. Looking forward to seeing what the girls have in store for us this term!

Term 1 Best Attendance!

Welcome back everyone – we hope that you had a wonderful Christmas. It is as though we have never left as we get into the swing of the second term.  Before the sun sets entirely on the First Term we would like to congratulate our students who received certificates to acknowledge their best attendance or near perfect attendance for term 1. Long may it continue this term and let’s see who will receive three certificates by the end of the year! Well done!

Singing in the Bridge Centre

The girls of the Scoil Mhuire choir are in high demand this week. On Tuesday they gave an impromptu session to the parents who popped in for some coffee and cakes. Today the girls pottered down to the Bridge Centre where they entertained the crowds with their beautiful singing. Like all of our students they did us so proud – flying the flag high for Scoil Mhuire! Well done girls.

Festive in Fourth

This week has been full of fun and plenty of laughter. The halls have been ringing with singing. Fourth class has definitely enjoyed the week according to these photos!!

A Visit from St. Nicholas

The students are giving amazing performances all this week. Be prepared for lots of posts regarding same in the coming days. Here is a little something special from our boys and girls in 1st class. Enjoy!

Author Ray Flannery

The students of 5th and 6th met with author Ray Flannery (originally from Banagher!), Garda Detective by day, epic children’s author by evening!! So inspired by his talk- the girls could not wait to return to class and write their own stories. His hilarious book Moany McMoan tells the story of a typical Irish boy who gets up to plenty of mischief!! Perfect stocking filler that is available on Thank you so much for your time- the students were fascinated.

Making headlines!

Great photo in today’s Tullamore Tribune!

When giving is even better than Receiving!

Today Ronnie Colton and Michael Casey, representatives from Tullamore Lions Club, visited the school and were presented with crates of food that Scoil Mhuire students collected over the weeks of advent. Thank you to all the girls and boys for their generosity.
