Today the school celebrated St. Brigid’s Day. The 1st of February is considered the first day of Spring in the Irish calendar. The children around the school have been singing their songs to Brigid and the pupils in the older class have been learning Gabhaim Molta Bríde this week. Today Ms. Murray’s 6th Class girls made a traditional St. Brigid’s Cross each. It was the first time for many of the girls to construct the cross from rushes – and they had a wonderful time doing so!
