Another busy week has drawn to a close and the students are most likely exhausted! Ms. Fahy’s 4th Class spent an adventurous time in Tullamore Library on Tuesday marking Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday. If you have a Roald Dahl fan in your house http://www.roalddahl.com is a website packed with plenty of ideas including reading lists, quizzes and games.
Meanwhile football training kicked off at lunchtime with a great gang of pupils showing off their skills – so we can expect an exciting year ahead on the football field.
Computer Club is up and running again with 1st and 6th getting stuck into learning all about how to code. The pupils really enjoy creating their very own games using Scratch – and this coding package is free to download through http://www.scratch.mit.edu.
Ms. McCormack’s Junior Infants showed off their artistic talent with some beautiful self portraits and great use of colour in their name. While Ms.Cantwell’s Senior Infants are now seasoned professionals when it comes to art classes!
Today Ms. Murray’s 6th Class took part in Culture Night (albeit at 11am this morning) 2016 by experiencing some early animation with Zoetrope by Caroline Conway in Tullamore’s Community Arts Centre. The girls had a super time and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the movement exercises.
Just another great week here at Soil Mhuire!!
