Proudly educating the children of Offaly since 1957.
Love is still in the air here at Scoil Mhuire. Ms. Ryan’s class celebrated St. Valentine’s Day with hand-prints, hearts and delicious cookies. Ms. Curtin marked Friendship week with songs, stories and cute cats! We hope that you had a super day!
We are so proud of both our junior and senior quiz teams who did Scoil Mhuire extremely proud in this year’s Credit Union Quiz. They were merely pipped at the post to receive a place but true to their nature, they were very gracious in defeat. These photos were taken the day after the competition…
Shrove Tuesday, Pancake Tuesday, Mardi Gras….Whatever you call today, the staff and students of Scoil Mhuire call it Terrific Tuesday as Mary and Geraldine battered, flipped and served over 500 pancakes to all of us. From early morning scores of students and staff members filed into the staff room for these delicious treats complete with…
The girls of 4th Class recently read E.B. White’s wonderful novel Charlotte’s Web. They created magical spiders from recycled items. The girls also designed their very own comic strip to depict this beautiful story. Well done girls!
Today was Grandparents’ Day and to mark this special occasion the pupils of Ms. Delaney’s first class have been learning about toys that their parents/grandparents played with long ago! Lots of teddies and dolls featured, but not too many computer games! They talked about what toys are the same as long ago and what ones are…

Every Thursday in our Computer Club, children get to use Scratch. Scratch is a programming language and an online community where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games,…
The entire town seems to be out in force walking and getting healthy. The students in Ms. O’Keeffe’s class have been learning about the importance of being seen while out and about. After a tough competition on the significance of wearing reflective clothing Kinga and Kayleigh have been selected to take part in a poster…
There are so many ways to teach maths and procedural writing- but possibly the most enjoyable method to learn both is by baking yummy goodies!!! Ms. Ryan’s class took measuring and following instructions very seriously when creating delicious Rice Krispie buns! Sadly there were only enough for the class…next time!!!
